They don't call it "Winter-peg" for nothing.

You didn't mention if your camera was digital or film. If it's digital, you also have to be concerned about the LCD screen freezing in very cold weather. Also, cold weather will make your batteries last a fraction of the time that they would normally would.

I go camping with my cameras and keep em under my coat till I am ready to shoot. At night I keep my cameras at the foot of my sleeping bag. Temps drop to -40° easily in the mountains here.

I asked a similar question last year and people recommended to wrap the camera in a grocery plastic bag so that theres no air left in it and then let the camera warm up in that, so the condensation formed on the outside of the bag, not on the camera.

The problem with suz 0 weather is it drains the batteries, so you may want to keep some in an inside pocket against your sweater, then when the batteries in the camera no longer work, switch them and put the others in that pocket so they can warm up and be used again. Repeat. :0)

And im pretty sure hockey rinks are below 0 here in the winter. They probably figure why heat it?
