need help on focus stacking technique

Hi all
I have seen a lot of videos on Youtube talked about focus tacking.
One thing that puzzles me is that how do you shift your focus point in the camera while the camera is sitting on a tripod? I would have imagined if I shift, the perspective of the subject will change.
any tips on that?

Are you saying that by moving the lens forward, as is the case with most lenses, magnification would also increase? This is the case. But I do not know if it is substantial.

When they talk about "Focus Point" they aren't refering to the Focus Sensor Points. They are refering to how far into the scene you focus. Ie. a Macro, using a rail system you may change the focus point every tenth of an inch. or in a Landscape you may focus at 1 foot, 3 foot and infinity. Never changing your framing

Sorry I didnt get it ... I use Nikor 105mm Macro lens. How do I get different parts of the subject in focus coz later i want to stack them together in photoshop? Do you have any recommened links for me to look at?

When you shoot Macro. what mode are you on? Auto focus or manual?

You don't move your camera. You toggle to a different focus point that changes the depth of where your focus is. Then in post you mask them all together. OR you manually focus and change the depth of the focus point for each exposure.

IF you use a rail system you actually will move the camera ( back & Forth)...BUT that is an advanced and EXPENSIVE technique and not what the OP is refering to of course as I know you know
