Need - Help & Recommendation

Hi all,

I'm looking into getting a new lens for the sake of experimenting with something other than what came with my Nikon D80 ---> AF-S DX 18 - 135 mm F3.5 - F5.6G E. I just let down my long fear of the manual setting, as of October, I love it. However, I feel like I'm really missing something with the this lens, like it's not doing the trick. I'm not doing many jobs for anyone right now, but I like the look of well lit pictures, but I don't appreciate a reduced f-stop with increase in my zoom power.

Any help or recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Flash unit(s) would be nice.

get a zoom lens with a constant 2.8
or better yet, get some 1.8 or wider prime lenses, 50, 85, 35,...
