Too many for detailed comments, so I'll just address the first one. There is not enough depth of field for the subject - most of the buds are out of focus - and also the crop was not well thought out. If you're going to do a close crop like this where some of the subject is out of the frame, then you should try to crop close enough to exclude distracting elements, e.g., the relatively bright areas in the background in the upper and lower right corners. There is also a bright area near the upper left corner. Some combination of cropping and careful selective darkening of the area could address this. The main thing is to shoot this at a smaller aperture. I don't know if you were using a tripod, but this sort of shot really requires one to get the combination of sharpness and depth of field that would make this look really good.
