One of my first Kodaks was the 5mp DX4530, I just bought a pristine one with 2 batteries for £8, batteries and camera all good and the DX4530 is really not bad at all!! another one for the collection :)

I had the very same camera many years ago, it was only used for holidays and eBay, sadly it got a soaking in Turkey, and died shortly afterwards, I was always impressed with the photos it took.
Yes, It has a couple of things sadly lacking on many cameras now, an Optical viewfiender (as did most cameras of that era) and a dedicated seperate SD card slot, the later Z$12 series almost all had EVFs and longer zooms with more advanced AF AE and sensors, they are still good cameras now. The P series circa 2005-2008 were really good (P850, P880 and P712), I regularly use a P880 and a P712 and am still completely satisfied with what they produce, but this little DX4530 can still deliver a good pic

lovely photos and cute lab
🙂
Hi Lisa, just picked this camera up for nostalgia, its surprising how good these early digicams were. I am just about to move house from Devon to Birmingham, I will be posting loads of shots of the big city soon

Interesting comparison, so the DX4530 is a 5mp CCD sensor from 2003, I took a very similar shot in very similar conditions with a Kodak Pixpro AZ526 with a 2014 16mp CMOS sensor, I think the old DX4530 does quite well
