Classic example of how when man invades, Nature adapts. Go toward the MS and AL gulf coast it's even worse. Nice shot though.

Nice image. I like the contrast it shows between the "old" and the "new". I am sure we could get into a great discussion between maintaining the original environment and how the growth of an area results in expansion into that environment. Animals are adaptable. As long as we leave them alone, they will try and fit in to the new situation. We have an estimated 500+ coyotes living within the boundaries of our city and I can only guess at the number of rabbits and deer, and who knows what other "wild" animals are living there as well.

In the early days before children, my wife and I would spend time in the Florida panhandle at her grandmother's place. From her quiet little village we watched civilization creep Eastward from Destin, FL. My last great sunset on 35mm film from there was taken probably in the early to mid eighties. Your image reminds me of the sleepy little Four Mile Village overrun by condos. My film archive has a separate file just for that area.

Thank you for stirring my memories and reminding me of days gone by. Splendid image.
