Whooo, my first post here... I may die of scared. :puke:

I would love to have some feedback on these, both on the in-camera stuff as well as PP... I was gifted my first DSLR on Saturday- her name is Ilene, thanks for asking- and I'm still bumbling around a bit as I figure out the features (and which ones should come with a joy buzzer attached for the first few weeks). If you could include what needs to be done to fix the problems you wind, I'd be extra grateful! I do know that the sky is blown out (I've lurked here enough to know what that means, I think) but short of trying to HDR it- I didn't have a tripod- I wasn't sure what to do about it...

Okay. Uh, I guess it's time to stop blathering and post. :blushing: I'm not 100% on the watermark; I think it's pretty, but I'm not sure whether it's arrogant to watermark the images you put out while you're still so wet behind the ears...

Thanks in advance! :hugs:

Good exposure, focus, dof.
1 and 2 really dont do anything for me though. Lots of green haha.
Number 3 I like very much. This one is the money shot.

Amateurs words, take 'em or leave 'em.

Don't use shutter priority and leave your shutter speed at 1/25s unless you're panning or some such. You were shooting at too long of a focal length to warrant shooting at 1/25s. Your shutter speed should be (at least) 1/focal length. So if you were zoomed into 55mm, you should have your shutter speed at 1/80 or more (since you have a crop frame camera). My suggestion would be to shoot in aperture priority or manual if you feel you understand the exposure triangle well enough.

Other than that, you have an eye for composition. You should go back there again and take some more photos. It looks perdy.

I definitely don't! But now that you've said that I'm going to go and read up on it!

Thanks so much. I'll head back out this weekend and see what I can come up with in another mode. These were taken in my mother's back yard; my little brother built that treehouse (er, tree platform) himself when he was five or six.

I think I would have titled this "Ghetto Treehouse Series" :)

I dunno. I find them dull and uninteresting. The subject is probably kinda neat to see, but I don't think you've captured that in the photo itself. I don't get any emotional attachment, no message appears to be present, nothing... just green. And it looks like the whole shot may actually be over-green, like you bumped saturation or swung the color balance a bit off.

You know... I'm sure I read that a awhile ago when I was reading about the exposure triangle, but I completely forgot! Thanks for the reminder!

I agree, looks a tad over-sharpened too.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it! :)
