New camera, trying to get the ISO settings and Exposure right when I shoot during the game. Its rather difficult to coach and try to take pictures at the same time but I got a few that I like so far. Any help would be appreciated. I have a sony a55 slt

#1 is fair, I'd try a different crop.
#2 The shadows are killing this shot. Also, try framing in portrait.
#3 A whole lotta nothing happening in this shot.
#4 Could be much better if you had managed to get his face.

1. nothing wrong with using your camera's "automatic" mode
2. work on capturing some human connection - faces, emotions, humor, etc.
3. you can cut the shadows a bit with fill flash
4. take a few seconds out of coaching to grab some snapshots. You could probably dash over behind the backstop snap one off and be back in the dugout on less than 30 seconds, and the players would hardly know you've gone until you get back.
5. don't forget to grab some "atmosphere" shots; the spectators, the opposing dugout, an umpire calling someone out, whatever.

I have to agree with everything Designer has said. The first one, if you cropped it as a tight vertical on just the kid, the shot would work.
