New App for iPad/iPhone

Stumbled accross a new app for the ipad/iphone. It is called "My Lenses". Only costs 1 dollar.
Fairly simple, but it works well. It will store your current inventory of lenses, then plot focal-length vs aperture for each. Pretty cool.

Note - currently only for Canon lenses. Developer says they will add other manufacturers in future.

Seems pretty pointless to me....I know what lenses I have.

I have an app that lists all of Canon's lenses, their prices and links to various reviews. I've got one for Nikon as well and I think I saw one for Sigma that I don't have yet.

nikon has a similar app as well, this also seems useless to me. why the hell would anyone want this? unless they had a million different lenses and ran a collection.

I can see that someone could use it to show off to their friends...which is about as useful as half the apps anyway :roll:

To each his own. I thought it was a nice little utility.

Let's see.... I have a 10.5, a 10-24, a 18-105, a 70-300, a 105, a 500 and a 600.

Perty much don't need to fancy app for that.

I have several older Canon lenses that I rarely use. I thought this app might be useful to help me keep track of what I have - especially if I am out somewhere and someone is interested in buying them. I just can't remember off the top of my head the exact lenses that I have, whether they have IS or not, etc. It's also easy to get a quick review of the lenses and to find out the current street price for them. Maybe it's only a good app for people with a poor memory.

I use this one too. I already know the lenses I have, but I like browsing the ones I can't afford.
