Photos NOT OK to edit
i am looking to get a new camera and im not sure whhat i want or should get. i am a beginner photographer. i currently have a lumix dmc-zs5 point and shoot camera. i have found it good but i want to get more into photography and take better pictures and am looking at getting a dslr camera. i have no idea what i should be looking at for lenses or size or megapixels or anything whatsoever. if anyone has any insight or ideas that would help me out that would be fantastic. i am in no rush to get one so im willing to hear anything.

I also just not long ago got my first DSLR Camera as well I did research and read reviews looked at youtube videos demos there is so many out there first know your budget and stick to that also remembering you will prob want to get other things in the near future like tripods and lens spare battery carry bag taking all this into consideration. I ended up narrowing down to 2 after long time looking around I then went of with those two in my mind and did more research and read more reviews I decided to get a Nikon D3100 as it was for me the best I could afford and according to the reviews it is suppose to be a one of the best entry cameras I could find for my money. So this is my advice start with a budget and stick to read reviews and do the research don't rush into something take your time and find out what you want and need. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum
I agree here for one reason: Value, photography is an expensive but satisfying hobby/profession. If you do thorough research, ask questions, read reviews, physically hold, etc.etc.etc. before purchasing you will find that your satisfaction with your gear will be greater and you happier. Don't rush.
Have a great day.
