Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I shot this at 6:30 CST today, it was just something that was suggested by a friend and I think it turned out ok, but I wanted to see what others thought. This is unedited. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

maybe use a graduated nd filter so you can expose the sand and the bottom of the glass better. other then that, looks pretty good.

It's missing a lemon on the top ;) , doesn't seem like an exotic drink to me. It looks like you put a glass of wine behind the sun which doesn't make much sense. You should try to use a different shaped glass like a stand up one without a neck and add some fruit to the mix.

Good composition and the use of the rule of thirds on the horizon and the location of the glass. Its more of a cocktail glass not a wine glass so I would include more props and go with Davor's suggestion. I also think it needs some fill light to emphasize the glass as the main subject and the sunset as the background. The glass is also tilted to the right a bit but if you shot this a little lower and placed the horizon in the middle of the glass that may not be noticeable.

Pretty good start for a new guy.

Thanks for the comments so far. The glass, and wine in it, were my only two props as I raced the 30+ miles to the beach that morning. Certainly wasn't planned well in that respect. I was looking for more comments regarding the way the photo turned out, I should have said so in the OP. Still, giving the suggestions of other props, etc, gives me something to remember and "see" in my head for next time!

I must admit, I was quite nervous to post this, but I figured the only way I am going to get educated opinions was to post. Thanks again! I will certainly take note of all the suggestions here.

You live in the midwest, somewhere in the central timezone, and near a beach... I'm stumped, unless you're in Wisconsin haha
