I am very new to this. I was just wondering how I go about learning what settings are good for certain senarios. Also, what kind of picture are good to practice taking? Any and all help would be great:D

When you figure out what it is you like to photograph any practice in that field will be good.
Also as far settings go, buy the book understanding exposure by Bryan Peterson. It will get you going in the right direction.

oh, I forgot to mention. I bought a Canon Rebel T1i. Didnt know if there was anything specific to each camera I needed to learn as well.

Thanks for the suggestion for the book!

I really like to take pictures of cars, day and night time. I also want to be able to take some good outdoor, landscape type pictures at various times of day.

if you go on flickr you can view what is called EXIF data and that is the data that is recorded on to a JPEG image and states shutter speed, ISO, Aperture.
When you click on the picture you will see a tab saying action click on that tab and it will says view exif info.

Here you can see an example

ALSO WELCOME and always keep practicing!

Sounds helpful, but when I went and view the EXIF data, it didnt say anything about shutter, ISO, or Apeture. Maybe Im doing something wrong.

I signed up for flickr, but after I downloaded a couple pics to post on here I tried to view the Exif info. It doesnt say what any of the settings are for the photo.
