New Here ~ shots with Micro Nikkor 105mm lens

I just got my new lens and it seems it takes some time to get comfortable with this lens. I don't have a tripod yet, so I know I really need to get one. I also know the flowers are centered but..... Any comments or suggestions would be great. Both are natural lighting. Im not good with artificial lighting and the toilet papper trick wraped around the flash never ever works right for me

These are nice for first shots. I'd say to go back and use a smaller aperture (bigger number) so the depth of field is not so shallow and you can get entire flower in focus. I just think that more detail would be better here and smaller apertures will help out.
