New Lens C&C

Hi all, just a couple of shots from yesterday breaking in my new 35mm f/1.8 lens. Pretty excited about this one, I'm thinking that it's gonna stay on my camera for a long time. As far as the C&C, please provide any feedback you feel necessary; I need it. Thanks in advance!

I would have guessed that you haven't had this lens very long from the mostly empty foregrounds in these shots. With a wide-angle lens you need to get closer than you may be accustomed to.

@KenC: So you would suggest that I just take it in a step closer in order to get less empty foreground? Now that you've said that, I notice that there is a lot of empty space where the image might be a little boring... Thanks for that!
