new member.....some of my shots

hi, i am brand new to the site and thought i would post some of my photos. I live in Rhode Island and my main passion is photographing waterfowl. I have not yet saved enough money for a dslr/lens so i am stuck with a point and shoot for now, it does surprise me from time to time with a good shot or two. Here are some of my favorite images i have taken recently. let me know what you think.

a canada goose, slightly cropped

another canada, again slightly cropped to center the goose

mallards on a cold morning, full frame, no image adjustments

a neck banded goose

a flushing pintail, slight crop to center and slight contrast adjustment

an immature red-tailed hawk

geese in tight, full frame almost no zoom

I like these but think the composition is a bit off. It seems as though you are trying to center your subject but using the rule of thirds provides a more interesting composition. The first two would lok good with the goose in the lower left corner which "would leave room for it to fly"

I like these!
Mostly so the third and the last with the ducks so nicely coloured and spread out on the water (3) or flying right towards us (and soon also out of my screen into my room ). Very nice.

It is a good idea to number one's photos once there are more than about 3 or 4 in one thread, ok?
