New Photographer, Any Advice Appreciated :-)

Hey all,

I'm Andy and I got into digital photography a couple of months ago and I'm still trying to get the hang of my camera (a Rebel XTi that's worlds apart from my old Point-and-Shoot). Recently I took a trip to NYC to visit a friend, during the day I was locked out of his apartment while he was at work so I spent the time roaming Manhattan and taking as many pictures as possible! Overall, not bad. You exposures are okay for the most part and you've clearly put thought into your compositions. I quite like #s 5 & 6; unfortunately the exposure in #5 is a little dark; it would have been better to spot-metre the subject's face and deal with the highlights in post. Keep at it.
