New Photos- still motion

theres are somephotos i took the other day for my assignment in tafe.
theres been no photoshoping at all, its just a plain image
i used a nikon d40 for those who are wondering.

what one is the best? comments and crits are greatly welcomed

yuck... the photos look ok, I just hate smoking... and this looks like shes trying to make it look hot.. if I had to pick 1, i'd say the first one.. because the second one the smoke looks really weird.

whats the purpose of the assignment? whats the subject? what are you trying to accomplish with this photo?

the person really doesn't smoke, but she said she would for the photos.
she doesn't like smoking that much anyway haha.
that subject was still motion so i chose smoke.

these may have been more effective on a black BG with some creative lighting.

interesting shot and concept. im also curious about what the assignment was.
if you have time...don't settle for these...reshoot with some better surroundings.

im not a smoker, but i wonder if cigar smoke would be denser and more effective?...just a thought.

the first one is good... get another person to hold up a black poster board for your background and it will be brilliant.

thanks everyone for the sugestions, it was just a take for the week, but will be further marked at the end of the year, so i can re shoot them on a later date, and thank you both SrBiscuit & Robertwsimpson i will take your advice for when i re shoot these. cigar smoke will be alot better as would a black background. these were kind of my first atemps at photography seriously though so thank you everyone.
