New Picnik user

I just started out with photography, probably 3 months. I had a shoot with a friend who wanted to have a portfolio shoot for her file.

This is how the picture turned out when edited with Picnik program: http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/5499/reddressas8.jpg

I'm still not satisfied because with the edited picture to make her face less "harsh". I even read this tutorial: http://www.brilliantprints.com.au/blog/2008/01/ to help me sharpen the background and soften the facial features. So far, no luck.

Can a pro Picnik user help me out?
