These are shots I took yesterday, I have cropped and adjusted them in Lightroom.

#1

#2

#3 - First time shooting into the sun, so I wasn't too sure how this would come out. Nice colors created from the sun behind the clouds.

#1 - Dull lighting...tilted and centered horizon ... lots of distractions...

#2 - Shallow DoF ... muted colors

#3 - that looks sort of neat...but unfortunately its boring...clouds usually are...they have to have something REALLY neat going on for them to be of any interest....or a different angle from the usual ones we see them from...but I don't think you'll want to try and jump that high...or build a ladder that high...and planes just move so quickly...you'd have one chance to hit that shot and its gone...don't even try to ask them to turnaround for a second shot...unless you own the plane...you may have some uncomfortable people glaring at you or worse...

Just my two and a half-dollars (2 cents adjusted for inflation)

They are generally uninspiring compositionally although you made some good choices. In #1, you left enough DoF to be able to see the repetition of the other repeating grass heads behind the subject. The horizon is ever so slightly tilted and cuts the image right across the middle, so the image seems to be as much about the horizon as it is about the grass head. Maybe get down lower and lose the water altogether.... just grass horizon against the sky and much lower in the frame to keep more of the grass above the horizon.

#2 is your average flower shot, nice color and nice contrast against the background, but lacking creative composition. DoF is too shallow as the pistil and stamen are out of focus. The background consists of lines and don't really jive with the subject.

#3 is an abstract take on clouds. Good color, good time of day, but doesn't work for me as abstract. I'd like to see at least the horizon. I noticed you shot at ISO 800, 1/4000, and f/5.6 @ 55mm. This doesn't make much sense to me. ISO 100, 1/250, and f/8 would have been a cleaner, sharper image at the same exposure (I think).

Thanks, all good info for me, I am NOOOOOBIE! Still getting acquainted with my Rebel
