Just trying to play around with my new strobes (well only one of them), this is the second time I've been able to use them. I know that the background is awful but the furthest I could go outside was my deck because of my new baby... I think the shadow on his face is because of the trees in the back.

I was trying to do the whole under expose the background thing.. These were taken at around 1pm ish. I'm having trouble with white balance, I always think it looks good but then everyone on here says its off... I'm just going to blame it on my laptop.:greenpbl:

The WB looks good to me.

it look good, what kind of flash are you using? diffuser?

So, sun camera left, strobe camera right, right?

I think you did a pretty good job striking a balance between the exposure of the ambient light and your flash; I mean you said it was shot at 1pm, and it looks like dusk out there! The sun is still creating some harsh shadows though, which look especially weird near his collar - especially in the 2nd and 3rd ones where there's a bit of light passing between his collar and his ear.

Overall, though, nice job!

Thanks :)
I was using a 300w strobe with a soft box.

Oh and I don't have any thanks left, I'll have to get you tomorrow lol

Good job, and if you think your WB is off try to pick up a expodisc they work for me.
