Hi. I quite like these shots, be interested in some feedback.

Thanks.

Meh... the first one is interesting as far as subject goes, but I don't like that the background is brighter than the subject. I think this might be a great shot against much more dramatic sky/atmosphere (sunset, sunrise, fog, storm, rain....).

#2 is just a shot of a flowering weed, dead center. Think of the blossom as a person... you wouldn't have their head right in the middle of the frame would you? No, you have it closer to the top of the frame. No difference here really. You've got all that empty blurred space above the 'weed' so use it! Maybe shoot portrait crop so we can see more of the subject. But in the end, it's a portrait of a weed.

First image is has a green cast on the wood to me, or were they really green? Your horizon is straight from what I can tell, so that is good. The image does nothing for ME personally, just kind of boring. What were you going for here? Why do you like it?

In the second image your subject is dead center, study composition ( I still am ). Your DOF looks good, but to ME the subject looks a little out of focus. Could just be me though. Again with this image, kind of boring to me. But, that's ME. Still ask yourself what YOU like about it and why you find it interesting. Maybe another angle or perspective would make it a little more interesting.

Again, these are my opinions, and I'm a noob too. You could really take what I say with a grain of salt!

The first is quite interesting. It would have been better not to have cropped out a sliver of the post on the far right (or to do the same with the one on the left). I'm fine with the color and the background; this is almost a sort of abstract, relying on shape, color and composition for effect, so you are free to interpret the colors as you will, imo.

Agree with others about the second not being of particular interest.

I clicked on the image and went to the larger views. I like the moss covered pylons. Composition is a little week. I might have moved to a different position so they all weren't lined up like a bunch of soldiers at muster. Maybe with the left post close up hugging the left side of the frame and the rest going of to the right as they diminish in size from the perspective angles. I'd experiment with it. Of course lighting is important the best angles may not have the best lighting. It's a compromise sometimes. Do you have a polarizing filter, that may bring out more detail and color in the background.

The second shot has potential, The flower,(weed) should probably be moved off to the right. The grass stalks about it will force the eye to travel across the image from right to left. Whats just out of frame there? It may be a good spot for a prop, Maybe a ragged little pink teddy bear or an old rusty Pepsi can. Use your imagination.

Like a previous poster said, these are opinions, You have to take them with a grain of salt. You may not like what is said, you may not agree with them, but learn from them, and use them to grow your ideas of what you can do.
