New to Forum - Inherited lots of "old" photography equipment

Hi Linda, and welcome to the forum!

I think your best bet is to make contact with a local camera store, for starters. Explain what a wealth you have. Send photos via email, and give them a few brand names over the phone. They know their customers. If they aren't interested in this kind of addition to their inventory, they're very likely to know who might be.

Also, you could ask them about photography groups in your area. DC is likely to have a few! It's a fair bet that what your FIL has is pure gold to some people.

I also agree the Photrio forum would be a great place to post, just like you did here. There's a huge number of analog users on that forum - it used to be named "APUG," for Analog Photography Users Group. Members from all over the world. They're likely to have the same questions about camera brands, lenses, etc., so again - line up several of these and take a few shots.

Lastly, and you'd need photos for this, too - there's always ebay. Since you're not looking for a profit, a photo with a brief description and Best Offer could help.

One person's junk is another person's gold. (Not to suggest the gear is junk, you understand - just that while it has little value to you, someone else could be thrilled to get it. They don't make cameras like this anymore!) :)

Hope this helps. Oh, one more suggestion - a local college with photography classes might be very interested in having some solid little workhorse type of analog cameras - or be another source to direct you locally.
