I've only seen one once as well. Your shots are lots better than the ones I got![]()

Thanks. There were a lot of them maybe 15-20 feeding over a pond after sunset, almost dark. These two were shot with 500mm lens at f4 1/500 iso12800

I would have never guessed the ISO was that high. There is very little noise in that picture. Which camera body did you use?
One of my favorite birds! They are just so elegant looking. You got a couple of very nice photos of them here!
Beautiful. We found a spot here were about 10 hang out feeding on the berries. Got some great shots of them.
Excellent! Especially the 1st. The Mountain Ash berries in my neighbor's yard are almost ripe, so hoping to see a few around here soon.
Nice shots Mike. I like that you got one from the front and one from the back. I see them down here only in the winter when the Robins are around. They seem to hang out with them. I did get some shots of some at a nest in PA when I was up there is June.
I especially like the back shot.
Wow at the high iso...never would have thought
Well I only seen one waxing, hmm population concerns here maybe.Nice positional shots and couldn't ask for a better background.
Well done!
