New to photography - should I look at a polarizer filter?

Well, I bought a circular polarizer and took a couple pictures of my house with it. I learned that it is not a good idea to use a polarizer unless you have very bright light or a tripod. The pictures I took were a little blurry. I could have probably upped the ISO and chose a quicker shutter speed, but I will wait until a brighter day. I'm definitely still in the trial and error stage of learning, and probably will be for years to come. Thank goodness this is digital and not film! I'm really starting to build an appreciation for some of these pictures posted in this forum. There are truly some gifted people here.

Just make sure when you use your polarizer that it doesn't limit your shutter speed too much (because polarizers reduce light), your photo's will be worthless if you have motion blur.

Take off your polarizer indoors and at nighttime, also.

Even if you dont get a polorizer, atleast get a skylite filter. If for no other reason than to protect your primary lense. It's cheaper to replace a filter than a lense....
