hi im from brisbane au and have just bought my first slr cam i got a canon slr digital 400d i love the cam but still have a long long way to go ill post a couple of pics please feel free to tell me where i went wrong thanks

he fractured the end of my adult sons finger through a garden glove
but he will crawl all over me as do the other two alexs i trust them totally but anyone else watch out, they call me the bird lady geeze i have to get a life lol i have to many birdies
 
Looks like you may have used an on-camera flash on the bird. Gives it some harsh shadows/highlights and is likely the cause of the extreme dropoff in light from his head to further back. I'd recommend getting an external flash that you can redirect of the ceiling or something...

Other than that... well... the framing and subject could use a bit of attention. They're fine quick shots but don't have a ton of interest, really. Sorry. Not trying to be mean, just trying to help.
