the Go pro is made to be mounted on anything and everything and should be pretty tough, the budget go pro hero looks great for the money, I would get that.

a regular point and shoot is not really made to be strapped to moving objects and flown around and what not, it probably cant take much abuse. you can probably make it work but I would rather have something that is made for that kind of thing.

a gopro should be good jes, but the Panasonic FT25 has got more options to take photos, like panorama, underwater,...
A gopro has got 10mp and the panasonic has got 16mp.
gopro hasnt got flash panasonic does.
the panasonic is heavier.
they are both water and crash proof.
the only thing i havent found yet is if it can be mounted on a tripod.
