Hi I've just started editing photos and I want to get into photography what is the best camera to get for portraits?

Hasselblad H4D-60

If you are more budget minded, the Nikon D3x does okay.

Have you seen the stunning images the H4D-60 can make? The HD4-60 isn't even have a full size medium format image sensor.

For the OP - The best portraits is more about the light, the lens, and the knowledge and skill of the photographer than the camera.

The best camera in the world will still make crappy portraits if the photographer using it is clueless.

It's not the gun, it's the gunner.

U need to give us a budget, the "best" setup would approach $100,000.

What a joke 40k for a camera O.o

The OP asked for the best. I merely provided the answer. If you aren't comfortable with those types of numbers, maybe you should be in a different thread...perhaps one that doesn't ask what the best is...

Nikon D3s or D700. Get an 85/1.4 AF-D, the 105 f/2 AF-D D.C., and a 70-200 f/2.8 AF-S VR-G Mk-II. Spend a few thousand on lights and modifiers. Best portrait camera for a reasonable amount of funds is a 24x36mm d-slr camera. With great lenses, like the three I mentioned.

You could use a cheaper body if you want though.

You could use a wal-mart disposable camera as well. OP asked what the best was.
