Photos OK to edit
Hello, my name is Angel. I've enrolled into photography school. I've only been physically practicing for about a week. I'm not really looking for an individual critique, just giving an overall look at my photos. I thought I was doing not "too" bad for a beginner, but I've been trying to get some feedback on certain photos, but all I've been hearing all day is "you need to put down your camera for good" lol. So here are some photos that I feel are best in different categories and why. I'm working with a Point and Shoot and getting a DSLR soon

I absolutely LOVE insect photography

This little guy was the first insect photo I ever took, done about a week ago. This was a very very small spider. He was less then half the size of a grain of rice.

Hi, blackrose89 and welcome to the forum. One thing to remember - when you post images for comment, please number them - it makes it a lot easier for a reviewer to refer to them.

First two are okay, just watch the focus and the depth of field. No. 3 looks neat, but the body of the spider appears to be a bit "fuzzy" - maybe watch your focus and depth of field on some of these.

The still lifes are just that - still life - no story here - unless there is some meaning to the twigs and leaves. If the camera is the subject, then you have cropped out portions of the subject in your composition - not always the best thing to do.

The landscape I like - fairly sharp, colours are good and the compostion is quite good (except the sky is blown out - detail is in the reflection in the water) - my opinion - HTH.

Cheers,

WesternGuy
