#2 A little further back, framed up a little bit. Still working on em. As you can see.

Was that on the flower? Just wondering. lol. I like them.

Those are great. I did notice that in the small size that shows the wings seem soft, but if you click on the bar to enlarge them they are NOT soft at all. VERY NICE

Very nice for the "bug" - what is it anyway? As far as the flowers are concerned, the crop is a little tight for me, no sense of "environment" and the petals are mostly out of focus. The first one with the bug is great - love the detail in the wings.

Cheers,

Thank you guys.
That came out of my Pentax K7. In fact everything I've posted here came out of a K7.
I ordered the K5 Friday!!!!!!!! HUGE upgrade, YESSSSS! Now it's only a question of whether it gets better than this.
By all accounts, the Image quality of the K5 far surpasses the K7. Honestly, I've gotten some pretty good stuff out of the K7.
It remains to be seen how much better the K5 is.

Anyway, you guys would be blown away at how small the above Fly, is. It's tiny and it's very very hard to capture.
If I had to give a comparison on its size : Less than half the size of a BB.
To give a comparison, below is a small moth sitting on the same type of little wild flower.
For comparison purposes only. I semi missed this capture. It's not up to my standards.

Very interesting shots. I like 1 the best. 2 seems to be a little too angled. Keep up the nice work

Thank you one and all.

You guys keep this up and my heads going to swell up so big that I won't be able to fit a hat on it and will be forced to wear a satellite dish.

Not making any excuses , but here's the thing with Macro.
Depth of field becomes a serious issue in Macro photography.
This was shot with a 100mm macro lens, on a 1.5 crop factor camera/sensor, effectively making it a 150mm Macro lens.
I hand hold for these types of captures because things move fast. I also work under existing light.
I'm presently looking at a Pentax 35mm limited, 1:1 macro which would be 52.5mm lens, on a 1.5 crop factor camera.
This shorter focal length will give a much greater depth of field at sacrifice of working distance.
I have no lighting, but that's about to change too.
The lens is about 900.00. It will be a welcomed addition when I get it.
