Newbie Needs Critique

I took these photos while walking around my college campus a few days ago using a P&S SLR-like Canon Powershot Pro S3. What do you think?

Flag in the sky.

Another American flag.

A daisy.

Another flower.

they are fine snapshots. nothing more, though.

The flag pictures are not very impressive, I think if the flag ts self was brighter it would stand out from the clouds making the picture, I think having the tops of the trees in the first one ruins it a little

I love the white daisy, the DOF is nice, pic is sharp I like how you can see the back sky line in the background (although I think the horizon is off)

I loved my s3 and have only just recently got rid of it, keep shooting and enjoy it.

Im going to agree with Kelly. I think some very quick post processing would add more to these. Just load them up in whatever program you have and adjust the curves, levels, and saturation. hst should bring out some more in them.

I noticed it was ok to edit, so I went ahead and spent literally 1 minute on one. I think the yellow may be a bit strong, but I didnt even deal with saturation yet.
