Newbie to cameras (panasonic DMC-FZ45), photography and jewellery - help appreciated

Hi All,

I know that photographing jewellery has been discussed many a times, and sorry for raising it again!!!


I really need help in setting up my camera to take good photos of jewellery. Now I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ45 and would love step by step help / advice in how to set the camera up in the best way possible to take amazing pictues of jewellery. (Please note I currently have an lightbox text (ezcube) and sufficient lighting.)

My main problem is that I am a complete newbie to photography, I don't even know what half the symbols mean (by the way I have been through the manual, still does make sense in practice).
