Newbie, took a few pics...

Well im completely new to the world of photography, and just picked up my first DSL-R. Seen a few shot that intrigued me so I attempted to take a few of drops of water as they hit water in a glass and also a few of my dog. Please let me know how to better them :thumbup:

Also, the glass has a blue tint to it, which turned the water the turquoise color that it is.

There are free tutorials on youtube regarding water drop photos, you may want to check them out. The processing seems unnecessary on the dog photos. Can you post the original dog photos? There is probably another route to go with the them, using a program other than photomatix.
