night time photos

I have been playing around my new camera , Canon Digital SLR, for about a couple of weeks now.

I love night time shots and for landsapes. There really isn't to many good places in Sarasota to take city night shots.

how can I improve on my photo skills?

I usually have my shutter speed at 10" and the aperature at the lowest of about 4.5.[/img]

I would agree that 1 and 3 are my favourites too. #2 looks a little flat IMO.

The first image has a wonderful sky in it... just catching the last glimpse of clouds by the looks of things...

You say you usually have the aperture at f4.5 - try closing it down (higher number) for some shots... It'll mean a longer shutter speed, but you'll get better depth of field for these type of shots.

The #1 and #3 are very good pictures. Maybe it's just me but I think #1 is a little tilted, so probably you could check that next time.

I wish I could shoot photos half as good as these.
