Nikkor 70-300 on D5000 body

I am looking to get this as opposed to the smaller 55-200 but am wondering how it would be on the small D5000 body in respect to balance, etc. Anyone using it with the D5000 and how do you find it both hand held and on a tripod? Don't think weight will be an issue, just after some feedback on general handling with this particular lens attached. Thanks.

I've used a 70-200 lens on a D5000 body and it's fine, granted it wanted to nose dive pretty badly (expected)... the 70-300 should be much, much better.

Im guessing your talking about the af-s version but the Af-d version was light as a feather
