Hello guys,
I am planning to create virtual panoramas with my d800. According to my research the best one for full frame nikon is 16mm 2.8 AF-D
How to choose your photo lens to make a virtual tour?
However, I found the older version AI-S for less than half price(used). It doesn't have autofocus (I don't think this is a major problem concerning I will shoot at f/11)
my question is will the AI-S version give me the same results when stitching 7-8 images together to make a virtual tour like this? :

since I don't have a chance to try both of them and couldn't find a comparison between each model, I wonder if anyone could tell me the difference when creating panorama (difference in FOV, distortion, easiness of stitching and sharpness)
