Nikon 20mm and 60mm for 24-70 worth it?

Hey, I am thinking about trading my Nikon 20mm and 60mm for a 24-70 vr. I shoot mostly reptiles and other wildlife. Would the 24-70 replace the 60mm nicely or is there a huge difference in the type of lens and I won’t get the types of shots I’m looking for. I mostly use the 60mm.

I would go with the 24-70, for the focal length flexibility.

• The 60mm is within the zoom range of the 24-70, so that should be an easy replacement.
  
• As for the 20, unless you REALLY need the extra 4mm on the wide end.
  • This is very personal, as I miss the 4mm between 24 and 28.

But then I'm a zoomie from way back when.

True, but if he's shooting reptiles and other wildlife, maybe close is not so desirable...

This is basically what I am shooting. Not to many things I shoot right up close. I may actually keep it in the end. Just in case I want to get an eye photo.

I would likely trade a 20/2.8 and a 60/2.8 Micro for a 24-70 VR...the 20mm is an older one, right? Anyway, the focal length flexibility of the zoom would be nice. Honestly, I find 20mm to be too wide for many uses on 24x36 or FX digital; i sold my 20 AF-D to a TPF member about a year ago, and have not missed it one bit!

It is the 20mm 1.8. I am thinking about selling my 100mm instead and keeping the 60mm. I use the 60 most out of everything. I find it a little hard to get the right light with the 100mm in the middle of the jungle.
