They're ok. But check out the Fuji S3 Pro or the new D2X as they will serve you better.
More megapixels - faster fps and yes, the fuji will take all of the Nikon AF lenses.
Check out dpreview as they usually have loads of test shoys from all of the available cameras in your price bracket.
