And from what I've heard its not a full frame sensor and it has been delayed but the good news is that the D200 replacement is still due to be announced within the next 4 weeks

Not sure if thats real or not but as for the Foveon sensor I do not undestand why Nikon and Canon do not use these, from reading about them they sound far superior to a CMOS or CCD. There is zero interpretation of color just a three layer sensor. Anyone have an explaination?

I hope they do release something new. They seem to be loosing a lot of pros to Cannon. I really could care less about sensor size, I just wish they would fix the high ISO noise.

Other items rumored 1.1 crop factor (vs 1.5), usable with DX lenses (auto crop), fast FPS.... no one knows and if they do they dont want to loose their jobs by blabbing to the bloggers...

From how i understand it the color rendition is very nice but the senor size and quality is not there... How to put it.... Cannon 12mp sensor is a real 12mp sensor, vs a 12mp Foveon sensor is 3, 4mp sensors stacked. Your getting good color, but file size and depth is still 4mp (just stacked)/

I would love to see 14-16 bit depth like with the med format sensors. Oh that would be nice.

Nikon has a patent for a sensor similar in concept, but radically different, then the foveon. Patent was from 2003 too.

It would seem that that is a bit too complicated for the real world vibrations and stresses placed upon it. VR would play merry hell with it too.

it kinda makes me mad that nikon is just sitting around while canon keeps releasing new pro body's and losing a bunch of pros in the process, of course they arent actually sitting around doing nothing but it sure is taking a long time to release a new pro body

when do people understand that everything you find about future cameras on a forum is rumour only
