Nikon D3000?

i currently have a Pentax*ist DL with the kit lens, a fish eye, and a 70-300mm zoom. its a great camera and it has served me well through the beginning stages of my photography development. i have been shooting consistently for over a year, i have read a few books, went on some photo shoots with photographers who have taught me a lot. I have a solid understanding on what it takes to crate a good shot and im absolutely in love with photography. i have the ability to trade an iPhone4 on craigslist for a Nikon D3000 in perfect condition, no extras though. is this a significant upgrade? i like having the options of the 3 lenses but i feel i have outgrown the abilities of the camera. Would love some help on this. thanks guys!

if your looking to upgrade the D3000 isn't problaby the best move. its the beginner camera of nikons line, its what im curretnly using. but for the cost of the iphone4 versu the nikon D3000 u may be able to sell that and with a little cash move up the nikon line to a more mid level camera.

D3000 has some serious limitations. I have been shooting for 6 months and already feel like I need to upgrade.

If you are serious about photography, look at their d90, d300, or d7000. Of course, if you want full frame go with the d700, though I hear it might have a successor coming out later this year.
