Hi,
I just bought a Nikon d40 with a Nikon DX AF-S NIKKOR 1-55 mm lens.
Is it possible to buy a wide angle convertor for this lens? Which type should I be looking for?
Not looking for fish-eye, but very wide angle shots for real estate.
Thanking you in advance!

You can buy the wide-angle converters which will attach to the filter threads of your lens, however these generally deliver very poor quality. They're marketed under dozens of different brand-names and are cheap and plentiful on eBay, and probably your local camera store as well.

18mm is already fairly wide, but if it's not enough then I would recommend something like the Nikon or Sigma 12-24 or Tamron 11-18mm wide-angle zooms. Neither are cheap (The Nikon runs around $1100, Sigma's about $1000, I believe the Tamron is a bit less) but the results will be far superior.
