Nikon D7100 - Home Studio

Hi,

Currently new to photography and we are looking to use this new studio to take family pictures for us and relatives. Not looking to make money initially but you knows, maybe in the future we could find our selfs doing this on the side.

However I have the following lense for my Nikon D7100:

16-85mm
35mm
18-300mm

I have seen this home studio kit: Falcon Eyes SSK-3150D Studio Flash Deluxe Triple Head Set 150w Falcon Eyes

I am a beginner and looking for the right kit to get really good pictures. Also for editing, do you just Photoshop?

Any advise or help will be appreciated.

OUCH! $495 US dollars at 1.554x....too much money for that, in my estimation; it is all Made in China, low-end stuff. Look around for better pricing.

Looks like typical MIC low-quality gear. It will do. For a while. If you're careful with it. I can't offer any advice on UK suppliers but we have a number of active members who should be able to help.

Okay...looked at it. The specifications are very complete: 3, identical 150 Watt-second flashes with user-replaceable flashtubes, and power down to 1/16 power, which would be 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, commonly called "five-stop power range", which is adequate, but not exceptional, yet for the price, GOOD. User-replaceable flashtubes move these one step UP from "economy" flashes, which in the USA from say, Adorama, are $49.95 or so for a 120 Watt-second unit, approximately. You get three light,s two modifiers, and three stands, plus the background pair of stands and crossbar.

I know that is some markets around the world, flash gear is expensive, and there are not a lot of affordable options; here in the USA, we are flooded with low-cost options, but my impression is that the UK and AUstralia have managed to keep prices somewhat higher than a true free market would come to (price collusion/distribution chokeholds/smaller market sizes??...I dunno what all, but prices on LIGHTING gear seem to vary across world markets more than one might expect).

Not sure what to say. It is MIC, middle-to-upper lower-end stuff ( user-interchangeable flashtubes show that ) and I am not sure about the 9.5 cm the "fit" or "mount" style, which is listed as a "9.5cm clamping system"...that MIGHT be kind of useful for found light fixtures; the light fitting system for reflectors MIGHT allow you to use some DIY modified reflectors from aonther brand, perhaps. I would agree with tirediron--it will do, for a while. If you are careful with it, it might last 5,10,15 years. Maybe longer. Or...maybe less...one never knows.
