Nikon FM advance lever broken

Hey everybody, so yesterday I was shooting with my Nikon FM. When I pull the advance lever I have to pull it all the way back then apply more pressure to advance the film but this time it snapped. Now it doesn't advanced the film and it goes all the around to the shutter release. I'm going to open it up today but has anyone had this problem?

Easiest fix is to buy another working body.

If the shutter is still cocking, the most likely event is that you either broke the film or disconnected the film from takeup spool.
