Nikon TC-17E III, news?

They released the 2.0x version, but no news on a new 1.4x, or 1.7? any guesses as to when that might happen, is it normal for nikon to release one and hold of on the other two (more popular) for a while?

From what I hear most people haven't got hold of the 2.0x version due to demand and supply! So I wouldn't hold your breath..
