Hmmm... $275 new; $60ABC (Already been chewed)... since as far as I can tell, Nikon's basic repair rice is about $135, I'm not sure it's worth it. If it was a $500 lens? Sure, but unless you can do the work yourself, don't think it makes sense.

sounded to me like the ring was a bit stiff and the filter threads were chewed...id at least go try it out.

you don't need the focus ring cause it's AF-S. If the glass is still good and everything else works fine. I'd say that's a deal! $50 even.
