I've got a D40 and am planning on getting the Nikkor 50mm 1.8 Lens, but I know that I will not be able to Auto Focus. Is there anyone else in a similar situation? If so how difficult or annoying is it to always have to manual focus? This is one reason why I am thinking of trading my D40 to a Nikon that can use the Auto Focus of this lens. Or I can fork up the money and get the new Nikkor AF-S 50mm 1.4G. But if I have to spend the $ I think I'd go for the camera upgrade.
umm am i missing something? last time i looked at my d40 it was a nikon... as for focusing with the 50mm as long as your eye sight is ok, you should be able to do it.. but auto focus is nicer!!
ah, that makes more sense!!! if you can get a decent price for your d40, its obviously a good idea to upgrade.. d90 is a far better camera
