No white higlights

Hello everyone!

In a lot of editorial magazines I see that the highlights in the pictures are not "white" (unless it's a white shirt or something of course) and also that they have sort of a grainy/film look, while they are made with a digital camera.
For example, I saw this article on Facebook: Article .
Whenever I take pictures on the beach, there's always some white in the pictures. Here the highlights are a little yellowish (and it's probably edited, but I wonder if there's a way to avoid it just with my camera).
Also there's a grainy effect, how do I get this?

The images have been stylized to give them that appearance.

Do you currently have any image processing/manipulating software?

Post processing. Just an many things could be done in the darkroom to achieve certain looks, we now have Photoshop and other image editors for digital.

start googling for photoshop actions. might want to start with the "matte" look.
