This is just a test shot I took of my dog using the Fisheye effect on my new Canon SX130IS

Cute dog! I think the picture would have been much better if his nose was in focus as well :)

Thank you :) I still need to learn how to use it as well as develop a photographic eye. So more than likely (for the time being), most of my pictures will look like basic "point and shoot" type of pictures even though I try to make them look better than that.

I used to find when I took pictures I was doing too fast without taking everything in the photo in. Slow down and look at everything in the photo before you shoot it. I know with a picture of an animal its hard because they are constantly moving but try and think of what you want out of the photo before you take it and you will get much better results :)

I totally agree with you. But this one was only a test shot as I was still learning how to work all its functions. Just a picture I took on the spot for fun. But hopefully for being taken on the spot, its good for what it is. :)

Heya. I'm rocking the Canon Powershot SX130IS also. So, I thought I'd say hello. I did a search and we must be the only ones in these forums with this camera. I'm LOVING mine!

It's funny, I took a photo of my friend in fisheye, and he looked alot like your dog!
I've been shooting mostly super vivid. Slowly getting into other modes. I'll find an example of what i'm doing..

I agree with this. But it was a cute idea. more dof.

I agreed with that too. Wanted to say it was GREAT advice from MissCream. It probebly will change a few of my compositions, keeping that in mind..
