I've been shooting film since I was a kid polariods, 110 and 35mm B&W in photography classes in high school. I asked my folks for an slr and got a point and shoot (nobody seemed to understand my disappointment) :p

Much later I got my first digital camera a sony DSCF828 bridge cam and took pictures of almost everything. Taught myself photography all over again.

A couple years ago I purchased a pentax k1000 and pentax mx with a few bargin basement film era lenses. i really didn't develop much of the film, but have the chemicals and will get to it someday. I've used the DSCF828 for macro photography with a pentax 50mm-a reverse mounted. It gives 1-1 with a 8x6mm sensor, but heavy vignetting crumby quality etc..

Last year I bought my first digital slr a nikon d7100. I've been gradually gathering gear as I can afford it. Currently: 50mm f1.8d, 18-105mm kit lens, sigma 18-35 f1.8, sb700, some light modifiers, filters, a hefty tripod.

Anyway, I'm looking for some discerning eyes to help critique my work and I'm also interested in being involved with other peoples work as well. It's often more easy for me to be impartial with other's photos since I don't have any emotional connection to them besides the capture.

So I look forward to meeting you all :)

Welcome! Sounds like you've got it all covered. I had out my SX-70 today using some Impossible cyan film to get photos of our record breaking snow! (somehow blue seemed to be a good way to go).

Great story on how you got into photography.

That sounds like awesome fun. It's a shame that impossible project film is so expensive otherwise i'd be playing with that all the time. I just had one of those junky plastic 80's polaroid cameras with a flash. I don't think it measures up to an SX-70 :)

Great story on how you got into photography.

Thanks! good to meet you :)

Hi!, and welcome.

Should you wish to dust off your 35mm and shoot some B&W, I'd be pleased to see you through the initial stages of film development and other darkroom mysteries. Best wishes. Jim.
