Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Ok so these are a couple of pictures I took around 5-6 months ago, the day after I got my camera. But im stuck at home right now, so I've been rifling through old pictures practicing pp. Landscape photography really isn't my thing, I'm more into portraits, but I'm trying to get stronger In this area. Main thing im focusing on is composition and pp right now. So here they are, would like honest critique.

BTW, I suck at post production. I wish i knew how to render clouds and all that good stuff, but im still in the process of learning the basics.

C&C per req:

The first thing that strikes me about both images is that they seem to have been shot too close to mid-day. Try again when the sun is lower in the sky and the light is less harsh. To make the sky and clouds pop, try using a polarizing filter. This will work especially well when the sun is lower in sky. With respect to composition, I don't get a lot from either image. In #1, the subject (The building I assume) is not prominent enough in the frame. In #2, the deep shadows detract too much and the structure doesn't have enough presence IMO.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

Thanks alot, yea they were shot midday. I can remember how excited I was to go out and shot the day after I got my camera. I was like "ohh! blue skys, its a great time to go take some pictures". I think this spot has some potential for some decent shots though, Im definitely gonna hit it again.

#1 You definitely cleaned up this image a lot more since the one you showed me in PM the other day, good job.

#2 The barn looks a bit washed out and flat. I'd take the burn tool and burn a bit of the wood to bring out the darkness in it and give it more edge.
