I like the second image, Sue.jpg quite a bit...it has that direct straight-ahead, directly confrontational engagement with the viewer that is characteristic of images of its genre...I have always found that a neat way to shoot portraits. But then, one of my all-time favorite portrait artists is August Sander...and he was truly a master of this type of subject/camera interaction. You have nice tones in your B&W conversions. "Sue.jpg" is just about perfect I think.

#2 is excellent.... have to admit the hair throws me in #1 ( I did a rotation in a State Mental Hospital years ago, I was working on an RN. She reminds me of the patients.. probably why i don't care for it! lol!)

heh I thought the same thing, in my second job at the hospital I'm frequently over in the psych department, pic #1 reminds me of those patients as well...

I like #2 though....

I love both of these images. First of all the lighting and the posing is excellent. The outfit color and grain is a perfect compliment. The thing I love most is the way you have captured the personality of each of these individuals. I feel like I have known them for a long time. Great Job!!
